We are extremely thrilled and thankful to announce that the great korean master Moondobang will be visiting our studio during his European tour in august 26. The Moondobang Artist Talk and Demonstration will be structured as follows: In the morning session, participants will observe a demonstration of Korean-style spiral clay wedging, working with more than 10kg of clay. This will be followed by a trimming knife sharpening session, as well as demonstrations of traditional Korean tableware forms (sabal) alongside signature Moondobang works. In the afternoon session, the morning’s pieces will undergo foot trimming using the freshly sharpened tools. The program will then continue with a demonstration of throwing and shaping a large-scale ceramic work exceeding 10kg of clay. The day will conclude with a Q&A session and a group photo opportunity with the students, fostering dialogue and connection. SCHEDULE : 10AM till 1PM – 2 PM till 5PM - Coffee, tea , snacks throughout the day ABOUT THE ARTIST Born and raised in Pangyo, South Korea, Byung Sik Moon is a master potter with over 20 years of experience in porcelain. His brand, Moon Do Bang, is renowned for his exceptional skill at the wheel. Moon's work is deeply rooted in traditional Korean ceramics. Moondobang has exhibited his works in many countries, such as the United States, Japan, China, France or England. He has received several awards and distinctions, such as the Grand Prize at the Mino International Ceramics Competition in Japan, or the South Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.
